On behalf of The Hellenic Operational Research Society (HELORS), we have the great pleasure of inviting you to take part in the 35th European Conference on Operational Research which will be organized from 11 – 14 July 2027 at the University of West Attica, in Athens.
EURO 2027 is the largest and most important conference for Operational Research and Management Science (OR/MS) in Europe organized by EURO – the European Association of Operational Research Society and the Hellenic Operational Research Society (HELORS). HELORS was founded in 1963 and is one of the oldest societies of EURO while it was one of the first ten (10) European OR Societies that participated in the establishment of EURO.
The EURO 2027 Conference will be hosted by the University of West Attica (UNIWA) at its Ancient Olive Grove Campus in Egaleo, Athens. Situated in historic Eleonas—the Ancient Olive Grove of Athens—the campus reflects the intellectual heritage of ancient Athens and the tradition of Plato’s Academy. The Ancient Olive Grove Campus covers approximately 100,000 square meters and includes eight buildings with modern teaching, research, and conference facilities. Easily accessible from central Athens by public transport and major roads, it provides an ideal environment for scientific exchange and collaboration.
UNIWA is one of Greece’s largest public universities, with six Schools, 27 Departments and more than 64,000 students across three campuses. UNIWA promotes sustainability through energy-efficiency measures, photovoltaic systems, responsible water management, recycling, and low-emission mobility.
We are working to select several outstanding plenary and tutorial speakers who will present the state of the art in Operations Research and outline future developments, as well as to secure publication opportunities in a series of special issues of highly prestigious journals. Announcements regarding these matters will be made soon.
At the same time, we are preparing a wonderful and enjoyable program of social events to be held as part of the conference.
While we delve into scientific research, the presentation of new algorithms/methods to support decision-making in complex problems, the interaction of OR with AI and analytics, let’s not forget to enjoy the 'spirit' of Athens. Whether it’s visiting the Parthenon, or the city’s museums, or exploring the historic city center or enjoying a walk for a coffee/drink/ice cream in Plaka and the narrow streets of Athens, or tasting Greek cuisine, or an evening stroll for a drink and music, or a short trip to an island or a beach for a swim, we hope your stay will be both intellectually stimulating and personally enjoyable. Athens combines the dynamism of a modern European city with a history of thousands of years and with a memorable cultural heritage.
We invite researchers, academics, practitioners, and students interested in any branch of Operational Research, Mathematical Modelling, Intelligent Decision Systems, Analytics, etc., to submit abstracts or organize sessions and attend a high quality and safe conference.
